I’m Nessa Cannon, award-nominated game writer and narrative designer specializing in horror, sci-fi, and comedy.

My work includes over one dozen commercial titles ranging from AAA (Borderlands 4, REDACTED) to viral indie hits (Endoparasitic, Date Everything).

I’m currently available for in-house or freelance projects, so let’s work together.

Six years of games industry experience has earned me accolades like “eerily efficient” or “delightfully hands off” and the time-honored “surprisingly funny,” on teams large, small, just starting out or dangerously close to ship.

I’ve also been deemed an IGDA Velocity Scholar, an IGDA Next Gen Leader, and an Academy of Interactive Arts and Science’s Amplifying New Voices… new voice. Other accolades include Too Much Television Watcher and Saw-themed Escape Room Champion.

I’m a published prose writer in literary magazines (including the Horror Zine), developer of prose-based Twine games (particularly proud of Jagged Bone), and served as editor and author of several pieces for the successfully-funded A Compendium of Cryptids anthology.

I’m available for new work— explore my work and get in touch with me!
